In the surroundings of Costalunga you can easily visit the mountains/hills, many different coast villages and the Monferrato wine area.

The hills and mountains around the camping are among the most unspoiled and wild in Italy. Here you can find endless trekking paths and beautiful villages, still untouched by modern mass tourism.

Sassello

4 km from the camping

A picturesque and cozy town, typical ligurian. It is famous for the delicious Amaretti cookies, the mushrooms and an interesting tourist attraction on itself. In the town you can also find restaurants, pizzerias, supermarket, shops, garage, gas stations, etc. It’s certainly the main reference point for the camping guests.

Beigua natural park

Costalunga lies on the border with the Beigua Natural Regional Park (a UNESCO site), a wide wooded and savage area of 9.000 hectares with a rich plant and animal diversity. The Park is particularly renowned for the beautiful panoramas which can be enjoyed in many points of its trekking paths. In particular, the park includes a part of the Apennine mountains (Mount Beigua and Mount Rama) which is located at only 20 kms. from the sea but at 1.100 m. altitude. Thus, in such points it is possible to enjoy a unique panorama of the coast and the sea on a natural terrace more than 1.000 meters high! A unique place in Italy!

Coicia waterfall

It is a marvelous waterfall, where it is possible to bathe, easily reachable in 30 minutes by car and about 30-40 minutes walking on a signed path. The waterfall is formed by river Orba and it is located in a beautiful natural and untouched environment. A true hidden gem!

Tiglieto abbey

The ancient XI century Cistercian abbey (official name “Santa Maria alla Croce”) lies in the Beigua Park and inside a beautiful trekking path with a shape of a ring. The Abbey is reachable after a short walk from the parking place, while a longer trekking path continues further on. It then goes next to the Orba river and its beautiful gorges.

Acqui Terme

It is a city, famous for its thermal waters and its wines. Acqui Terme has an ancient city center of roman origin. It is also known for “La bollente”, a fountain with natural water at 75° C.

Nizza Monferrato and the wine area

40 km from the camping

Nizza Monferrato is a town placed in the heart of the Monferrato wine area: one of the most prestigious in the world, famous for its red wines. Along the roads between Nizza Monferrato and Aquiterme it is possible to enjoy beautiful panoramas of the hills entirely covered with vineyards. In the area it is easy to find many farmhouses where it is possible to wine-taste the local products.
